- PowerPoint presentations, Internet research, student-led seminars and statistical analysis teach use of new technology while putting students in charge of learning.
Revitalized Peer Helpers program, with significant increase in student interest and participation:
- changed focus of course to be more practical and hands-on
- each student implements a major aid project at school or in the community, and performs 70 hours of community service on top of this
- student planning and execution of projects require planning, organization, communication, leadership, team skills and other employability skills
- changes to course encourage general level students to stay with course, stay in school and involve themselves with school and community.
