- Activities should be inquiry-based and hands-on to encourage students to seek answers and feel directly accountable for the quality of the work they deliver.
- Show students that they can be proficient in a second language and that they should not settle for just getting by.
- Have led the school's Learning with Laptop project since 2004-2005, thoroughly mastering the technology and succeeding in becoming resources and advocates for others. When the two-year pilot project ended in 2006, Ms. Pasinato and Ms. Ryan were chosen to act as peer coaches for the new crop of teachers set to enter the program.
- Working electronically with a team of six, the pair produced a major article in the online journal Learning Landscapes called "Line up Your Ducks!" that discusses their work as peer coaches and consultants.
"Ms. Pasinato has developed a practice that represents a departure from the norm – a true paradigm shift … a refreshing approach to second-language instruction." School board official
"Although Kelly sees herself as a learner, more than any of the other LWL teachers, she is also a knower of technology. This has allowed her to play and experiment … thus transforming the notion of a computer lab filed with stationary students and predictable programs into an integrated technology classroom." Professor of education
